To work in partnership with key internal stakeholders and external parties to define and design the IT landscape, in line with the business/IT strategy and design/implement a governance framework in order to ensure the Enterprise IT Architecture and solutions are fit for purpose, operationally resilient, scalable and adaptive to future changes/growth



1.
Strategy and Plans
In conjunction with, and as required by the Chief Officer of the Group, contribute to the formulation, implementation and delivery of the Group’s strategy in line with the ADCB’s vision, mission, values and priorities
Translate the strategy into operational business plans for the short, medium and long term within the department(s) and ensure that performance is monitored, reported and delivered and necessary actions are taken to achieve the strategy and plans

Enterprise Architecture Management
Define the overall conceptual IT architecture and technology road map and create a blueprint for the IT Enterprise Architecture, in alignment with the IT and business strategy, to ensure system inter-operation, stability and sustainability
Coordinate with, and supervise, enterprise architects, systems architects, project and systems managers to manage the design of complex and interconnected system clusters and solutions including additions and changes to a multitude of systems by conducting assessments, impact analysis, research, benchmark and technology watches to ensure emerging technologies in architecture solutions are embedded appropriately and the IT landscape is stable/scalable to cater for future growth and changes
Provide expertise in cross layer architecture patterns, IT landscape design, business application, SOA, information/data modeling, software design, security and infrastructure to ensure fit for purpose

Advice and Guidance
Coordinate, collaborate and advise key stakeholders on new businesses and business initiatives in order to incorporate required system functionalities into existing landscape
Liaise with industry common interest groups/communities to obtain/provide input on design blueprints to ensure ADCB’s systems and landscape works effectively with external interfaces
Engage and guide external vendors on ADCB application and infrastructure requirements to ensure proposed solutions are fit for purpose

Continuous Improvement
Keep abreast with latest technology trends in order to advise on internal adoption of latest and applicable technologies
Study and recommend opportunities for application and infrastructure consolidation in order to reduce cost, enable growth and/or increase efficiency

Governance, Risk and Control
Design and implement a governance framework for enterprise architecture, provide templates, documentation, business service catalogue and enforce application of design principles and standards to ensure these are not violated and the required standards are met
Ensure that the overall IT Architecture caters to protect the bank and its operations against IT risks, including unauthorized access to information, data integrity



problems, loss of processing capability and poor service levels and to achieve continuous improvement and competitive advantage by identifying security and stability needs
6.
Leadership
Manage employees and teams by overseeing their performance management, recruitment, learning and development to ensure high levels of engagement, and competence, a motivated work environment and to maximise employee contribution to business performance
7.
Change Management
Drive the management of change in the business area through direct reports and teams by providing inputs for, and partaking in change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment
